Creating an Instant Assessment
Smart Response basically gives you two ways to create and administer an assessment; by creating an assessment ahead of time with a set of questions you already know you want to ask your students or by creating an instant assessment. Instant assessments are convenient because they allow you to create assessments on the spot with little effort. The video below will show you how to create an instant assessment as well as tips on using the various instant choices such as instant yes or no, instant ABCD and instant number. Using instant assessments can allow you to formatively assess your students immediately preceding or following a lesson. It personally took me discovering instant assessments to realize my admiration of Smart Response. Before, it seemed like too much trouble and time to create an assessment but after realizing I could give my students an instant assessment, I began using Smart Response almost daily in my math instruction. I hope you find instant assessments as convenient and easy to use as I do. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I have provided the Smart Notebook I used in the video below for your reference.
